Dr. Jessica Wendling joined Fit Naturopathic to support the working individuals in the Ballard and greater Seattle community. She specializes in the integration of Physical Medicine, Mind Body Medicine & Stress Management techniques, to support her patients in their health goals. Using a Behavioral Medicine approach to help make lasting changes and habits stick when implementing foundational determinants of health, including Sleep, Exercise, Nutrition, Hydration, and a more balanced Nervous System. Dr. Jessica Wendling has been working with her mentor Dr. Andrew Simon for the past 3 years who was recently voted Seattle Met Top Doctor 2017 for Naturopathic Medicine.
Jessica Wendling is a naturopathic doctor dedicated to providing high quality integrative healthcare. After receiving her BS from Central Michigan University, she worked at Beaumont Hospital as an exercise physiologist. It was there, in the cardiac rehab department, that she noticed how simple dietary and lifestyle changes could reverse chronic disease and enhance quality of life. With a new passion for preventing and even reversing chronic disease, Dr. Jessica Wendling pursued a medical degree at Bastyr University where she earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Jessica Wendling believes in seeking the root cause of disease and teaching patients how to safely integrate natural medicine into their conventional care plans. She empowers patients, teaching them how to take charge of their health and future. Dr. Jessica Wendling is also a licensed massage therapist and incorporates bodywork into most of her treatment plans.
Dr. Jessica Wendling is an adaptable clinician with experience in diverse clinical settings including hospitals, community clinics, and oncology research clinics, along with international outreach as the former president of the Seattle chapter of Natural Doctors International. She also contributes to KNOW, the Knowledge in Naturopathic Oncology website, where she is responsible for critical evaluation of medical literature related to cancer treatment. Dr. Jessica Wendling is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and American College of Sports Medicine. Additionally, she has received specialized training in IV therapy, botanical medicine, qi gong, craniosacral therapy, homeopathy, and visceral manipulation.
Dr. Jessica Wendling takes a common sense approach to health focusing on balancing the nervous system to encourage the body to heal naturally. She believes that helping people learn to manage their health independently improves ability to recover from injuries or illnesses, and helps remove barriers to exercising, eating well, and decreasing stress.
Making it is easier for people to utilize natural ways to balance blood sugar, decrease stress, and optimize their health the body can start to heal naturally. Despite complex health conditions, Dr. Jessica Wendling has found that with small simple changes, over time patients succeed in making the lasting changes they are looking for. Dr. Jessica Wendling finds physical and mental fitness go hand in hand to improve health and well being naturally. Dr. Wendling enjoys seeing patients at Fit Naturopathic in Ballard, and often can be found walking her german shepard.
